behind the scenes
Broadcast-Quality Ice For International Coverage
Our rink system has delivered ice for major international productions before (see our ice in Toyota's global "Start Your Impossible" campaign in 2018), but contributing to elite-level winter sports programming never loses its appeal.
Ice-Canada Rinks Inc. specializes in custom rink installations and maintaining ice quality in temperatures reaching 32°C, making us trusted providers of technical ice systems for commercial film and television productions.
This month, our work will be featured in a number of promotional content, broadcast segments, and interviews that will highlight athletes who will be making their way to Italy.
Similar to the athletes we served, we embraced the opportunity to prove our technical capabilities. And few projects challenge our systems quite like broadcast production environments.
Building ice on a soundstage presents distinct engineering demands compared to the hundreds of outdoor and indoor rinks our floor system supports during the holiday season.
Under intense industrial studio lighting, positioned against elaborate green screens and infinity walls, technical considerations multiply: camera sight lines, surface reflection control, and acoustic management become paramount. In this demanding production environment with long shooting days, we deploy enhanced quality monitoring and precise temperature regulation to ensure ice performance remains consistent for both athletes and production crews.
Safe ice starts with quality ice. And our commitment is always to deliver safety and dependability. It's been an honour to engineer a world-class surface where world-class athletes and production teams get to execute their craft.
